Tow Boat Balboa

"Balboa" was built by Allan Birkin (Hull) and Ron Cowl (Upper works) from a plan first published in the November 1990 issue of "Model Boats" magazine.

Such is the boats size that it is split into three component parts for ease of storage and transport. It has a draft of around 1-1/2 inches and features drag bars on the underside of the hull in order to give a very realistic tow. The pictures feature both Allan Birkin and Ron Cowl putting the ship together in 2009.
